Shawn Brown has 25+ years senior management and Board governance experience in all aspects of sales and marketing, operations, finance, human resources and venture capital related initiatives. Key to his initial learning and success was 20 years developing and honing strategic skills in the highly competitive consumer packaged goods and hospitality industry. Leading numerous teams in the Western Canadian launch of many of today’s most recognizable consumer brands, Shawn’s success was immediate and significant. Accepting positions in key transportation and logistics initiatives led to the position of General Manager of Shred-it International’s Edmonton branch in which he turned the lowest performing branch into the company’s number one performing branch worldwide, in less than 2 years.

Shawn’s career was further punctuated as co-developer, and Senior Managing Partner of WebbCo International Inc., an Edmonton, Alberta based company specializing in assisting new companies develop and launch in the lucrative Alberta and Western Canadian/Canadian market place. The business morphed into a dynamic real estate venture capital firm and Shawn was instrumental in negotiating the sale of it to one of the G.C.C.’s leading real estate development firms.

In addition to founding Forest For the Trees, a boutique business advisory services company headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Shawn was also Managing Partner of Ecologix Canada, a global water management firm specializing in waste water applications for the Oil and Gas sectors. Most recently, he has assisted with corporate turnaround of an Alberta based environmental remediation and reclamation firm.

Shawn has far-reaching international business alliances and relationships that span the continental Canadian and U.S. borders, to Europe and the Gulf Coast Region. Most recently he has developed a key strategic alliance headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. With this experience and geographic reach, Shawn brings a unique experience and focus to his team and clients.

Benefitting from his extensive international travels and partnerships, often involving various levels of government interaction and negotiations, Shawn has most recently assisted two colleagues with their respective provincial and federal election campaigns.

Shawn has written a series of business columns for Troy Media, based on his extensive business experience. Titled Rules of Behavior, it is currently being edited for a book of the same name.
